  4. If you enable the face browser in /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf, gdm will look
  5. for face files (any gtk+-supported image format; see
  6. /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.2.0/loaders or similar for a list of installed
  7. loaders) in ~/.gnome2/photo or <greeter/GlobalFaceDir>/<loginname>,
  8. whichever is found first.  Note that there is no filename extension
  9. for either location.  greeter/GlobalFaceDir is set in
  10. /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf

  12. If you want a screensaver running with the greeter, you should use the
  13. BackgroundProgram option in /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf, or make sure if you start
  14. a gtk program in the PreSession script, that it is started with the gdm
  15. userid, and not root
  16.  
  17. A note to translators about the debconf templates -- translations
  18. should be sent to the xdm package.  I don't use gettext-based
  19. templates in the source, because I sync to the ones in the xdm
  20. package, and don't have any that are not shared.
